IZZY LUGO is a renowned guitar builder and restoration specialist who has gained a reputation for his exceptional craftsmanship and high-quality work creating guitars built for tone. American born and raised, Izzy's passion for music and guitars started at in elementary school, and he has since dedicated his career to mastering the art of guitar building and repair.

He is a renowned luthier and hand-builder of vintage-quality electric guitars made from superior tone-woods, most uniquely Salvaged Old Growth Redwood, and equipped with proprietary pickups and dynamic wiring. He is the co-owner and lead builder of Ronin Guitars, a company he has been a part of since 2008. He is also a co-founder of Fiam Guitars, a new venture started in 2020. Over the years, Izzy has produced an impressive 12 models, around 1200 handmade instruments, designed the proprietary Foilbucker® and Fiambucker™ pickups, fine-tuned the Tornipulator™, devised the MagicButton™, and continues to create beautiful and unique guitars that are highly sought after by musicians around the world.
One of Izzy's many talents is his ability to repair and restore vintage instruments to their former glory. As a repair tech at Rudy's Music in New York City, he honed his skills and developed a reputation for his ability to bring old and damaged guitars back to life. He has built strong relationships with fellow builders and musicians in Manhattan's global community, and he is highly respected for his knowledge and expertise.

His attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship have earned him a reputation as "The Wizard of Iz," and he continues to inspire and amaze musicians and guitar enthusiasts around the world with his craftsmanship and ability to help serious players transform their guitars for optimum playability and tone.

Today, Izzy works out of the state of the art Brooklyn Recording Studio located in the Cobble Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York and his build shop in the Hudson Valley. His custom builds, setups, repairs, mods, and restoration work are of the highest quality. Izzy has worked on guitars played by some of the biggest names in music, including members of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bon Jovi, and Van Halen, as well as Keith Urban, Suzan Vega, David Torn, Dweezil Zappa, and other great players.
